i made 4 of these filters as part of my Matrix Mixer ,too bad that more then 6 position switches are really expensive ,but that is the only extra thing you need to expand this filter , i installed the capacitors on the switches as that makes sense to me

Matrix Mixer

 

Matrix Mixer with gyrators as presented at electro-music forum ,this matrix mixer is with a twist ..each of the four stages has one input set to go thru the bandpass filter with rotation switches dedicated for purpose of filters set in the left side ,the upper and lower filter have two settings for resonance selectable via switch ,the 2nd and 3rd stage's 2nd and 3rd input have an attenuator switch ,as well as the 4th channel ,there was not enough space but in retrospect i'd add switchable boost on each channel in a form of additional 10 or 15K resistor at the output opamp ,the gyrator filters as expected make nice sinusoidal tones in feedback .This is really an active matrix mixer from CGS schematic ,each row can be set to unipolar or bipolar mixing and can be used for audio or cv mixing .

Gyrator Bandpass Filters 

Frequency Shifter

  This is yet another untested layout . I made the boards for this and even collected the parts ,but have not completed yet . I found this schematic at Henry's Electronics web page . There is not much information on line other then that sadly as well as no other reported builds . The frequency shifter there contains also a Sine/Cosine VCO and i decided to use another Quadrature VCO for this purpose ,so in that sense this is uncomplete . I made two layouts ,that is for the Dome Filter and the Ring Modulators & Summing Mixer .One of the boards is double layer ,while the Ring Mods board is single layer with a number of jumpers .Normally you would want to match the caps in the Dome filter as closely as you can .This is set up in such way that you would use the +/- 5V from the Ring mod board and connect it to Dome filter board ,other than that both boards are connected normally to +/-15V

Mosaics for Solo Media Player

This is recorded using VLC Media Player set to shuffle the playlists ,there are 3 short playlists here made from a Sample Bank i made from earlier recordings . I called this project originally Eden but these are Mosaics formed with individual sounds ,i avoided composing using these sounds and instead used the Shuffle function of a media player ,the results vary ,but sometimes the sounds pile up fine .Many sounds left unused and one or two are repeated .All bets in is cut out from a larger recording of a shuffled playlist where i used all the sounds from the Sample Bank while Setup is a playlist that i created using a limited number of samples .You can find this on Bandcamp here : https://vladoshribski.bandcamp.com/album/mosaics-for-solo-media-player enjoy !

 

GENERAL RADIO 1952 UNIVERSAL FILTER

According to the manual this is a Fourth Order (Four Pole) Chebishev Filters ,that can be set to Low Pass ,Band Pass ,High Pass and Band Reject . From the notes on the web site :An amplifier was added so that a guitar or the like can be input. A bias circuit was added so that it becomes just an oscillator when there is no input signal. It also serves as a knob to prevent only the oscillation sound from leaking out when there is no input signal.

I built this on stripboard somewhat modified ,and fitted in old Russian antenna enclosure .

Miniatures for well tuned equalizer

 

I recorded many sessions with my homemade mixer ,and got stuck with noise and many pedals i built .Then i returned to this very basic set up .Just 2 ring modulators and the mixer ,mostly ..

The feedback with SIAM (Siemens based equalizer) is pure sine wave, so in fact this is me just playing a Sinewave Oscillator .These few pieces reminded me of some ambient stuff i did back in 2007 ,so listening to the similarity i figured i'll keep them short and sweet .

 Here's few recordings of my no input mixer .On the images among the pedals also a Universe Reverb pedal i bought from AliExpress . I said i never use it ,it's not getting along with rest of my diy gear ... but in the latest recordings i just add a little tail from it .After all this time in building gear i like to use mostly my homemade gear for recordings .
