a little gallery of the synths i've built

This is a Groove Box i just completed ,and intend to keep it at least for a few years i hope , I built it with lesson learned from my previous Groove Box , i added a CGS Gate Seq and Yusynth Pulse Delay in addition to the Buchla 208 Uncorrelated Random ,and now it's all Hagiwo Sampler Drums , exactly 4 voices .Now in my set up i have 240 Samples carefully selected ,it was work to select and convert cut and trim all 240 sounds to 48Khz 600mS ,also to clean the baked paint of the enclosure ,

This is a DIY Mixer , it is based on Buchla and Serge simple mixer circuits ,in addition in it there are 3 x SIAM Eqalizers and a 4 channel filter bank. This one went to Montenegro.

 

This is a 4U format ,Serge-a-like single panel modular ,i think this was something i spent most time on ,it is specific as it had only Yamaha GX BPF and Low Pass Gate ,2 x 258 Buchla VCO's ,Serge Wavemultipliers ,Serge SSG and Hagiwo's Bezier Random ,also Buchla 106  and Buchla 194 BPF and few other things .The enclosure was packed with shitload of PCB's .The PSU was external .This one went to Croatia .

This is a single panel synth i used for a longer period . It was built out of modules i had leftover from my big Serge-a-like with 5 panels I sold it unfinished  ,few pcb's just wait to be populated . This is mostly Electronotes - Synthesizer ,VCO ,VCA ,VCF is Electronotes ,the rest is a pair of 111 Buchla ,NLC Spasm ,Buchla Quantized Random ,LPG and so on . This one is built inside an old tube radio enclosure and i love how it turned out ,but i just couldn't get myself to complete it . It went to Montenegro .

 

 

This is Best of CGS that i built for a friend in Netherlands ,he had the complete kit so i just put it all together , it was really fun as i never built anything with a kit earlier ,this is really a breeze ,if you can buy the kit buy it .t

This is a 4U Serge-a-like panel i built for a friend in Japan .This was a first time i built anything into a Hammond enclosure so it was a battle for me .Anyway in the end it turned out all right i guess .This one has a 4 Step Programmer/Seq by Serge ,2 x Serge VCO's ,Serge 73 VCF ,DUSG and so on ..

This one went to UK ,and it was built many years ago actually .Into an enclosure from Industrial Equipment ,it was really heavy ,I recorded some interesting patches using just this ,based mostly on Serge VCS ,NLC Difference rectifier ,NLC CHaos ,CGS Grinder and so on.

This one i built for friend locally ,and i really built it as if i was making it for myself ,it had really interesting selection of modules like a Wogglebug ,Buchla VCO ,Serge Negative Slew ,Oberheim VCF ,even a PAiA BPF .

This is my very first synthesizer ,it was really a wreck and you had to hold parts of it when you played ,it had lot of cardboard and whatever i could find for panels ,i had lot of fun with it ,and even recorded something i still like the most .

These two are built for a friend locally . The first one had an Arp Filter ,2 x 258 VCO's ,a Thru Zero VCO and so on . The white one is same dimensions meant to be used as expander for the first one and built few years later ,contained mostly Serge circuits ,Positive and Negative slew ,Serge VCF ,Serge Comparator ,Serge VCADSR and so on..

This is a Eurorack module i built for someone in Denmark , it is 2 x Buchla 258 VCO's with a Serge Wavemultiplier and CV Twister from Grant RIchter on one panel 

This is a big Serge-esque Modular i built around 2018/2019 ,it had a full small Serge Sistem in it and more then few modules i never used ,i sold the Serge Voice ,and few modules i repurposed for my Tube Radio Modular ,still there are some 10 other modules that just leftovers in some drawer . 

This is a Mixer i built to make feedback loops , it is actually one Buchla 106 Mixer and 4 Serge Mixers with additional features like compressors ,limiters/saturators and a joystick panner ,additionally there are 3 SIAM Siemens inspired Equalizers 

This is a Groovebox i built with Experimental Hardware Neurons from Wiard as trigger Sequencer , voices include 2 x Hagiwo Samplers ,Hip Bass Drum and 2 x NLC Bong0's ,additionally there is 194 Buchla ,208 URV Buchla ,106 Buchla ,99DSP Effects ,Colorupter ,4052 Pattern Generator  .This one is sold too .

this panel is next ,the case is Modcan style ,using banana jacks as my earlier panel ,ring mods and quantized random are ready ,panel printed ,psu ready and good mood, modules yet to be inside for more then noise :

The BPF-1A is based on a design I found in a magazine somewhere. Thats about as close as I can get on this one. Maybe someone can help? The BPF is a bandpass filter or wah-wah curcuit. There are lots of wah designs out there but the only ones that seem to work are the ones with noisy hard to find inductors in them. This is a little different. It's like a piece of a state variable.. anyway it works very well. With modulation at times it sounds a lot like a phasor but more often sounding like a Leslie or Univibe type thing.

Korg MS20 VCF as in Electronics or Music Clone schematics available here , this is single VCF version , IC's are LM13700  , PCB layout is 300dpi 

Serge ' 73 VCF , suitable for eurorack format , PCB is tested and working with single cv input , so simply don't install the bottom IC and you got a working '73VCF as it was meant with single input , low freq option is added (edit: this is not all that great layout ,i can suggest you to use the original serge '73 vcf layout ,the only difference is it uses CA3080 )
